When scarce budgets become available, how do you ensure that the job will be done on time, with high quality and within budget. That’s the problem faced by the province's largest municipal police force (the Service) when it went to market for high performance content conversion solution in a very short period of time.
 

DRC was awarded the contract from the Service to deliver and document conversion and management solution for legacy microfiche, microfilm and IBM punch cards. DRC was awarded the contract based upon its expertise in multi-format microfiche scanning, scalability to convert a large amount of content in a short period of time the company’s relationship with innovative ECM solutions provider MaxxVault. 
 

MaxxVault  Enterprise software received BLI’s  (Buyers Laboratory LLC) document management product "Pick" award as "Outstanding Document Management Solution". MaxxVault’s Enterprise software provides robust capabilities including document capture, document management, content management, on-line access, security and business process automation, all available within a cost effective entry level platform.
 

Having committed to digital scanning for day-forward records, the Service still possessed collections of legacy microfiche, microfilm and IBM punch cards. As very traditional storage systems, these records did not contain a complete set of index data permitting access in an electronic system.

DRC provided a solution capable of delivering high quality digital scans from each media type captured on different scanning modalities (roll microfilm, microfiche jackets and paper punch cards) in concurrent processes.
 

DRC created custom data entry applications providing the essential index metadata for ingestion into the customized solution from MaxxVault. MaxxVault provides a tremendous number of features in its web based MaxxVault Enterprise solution plus support corporate standards including Active Directory integration.
 

DRC’s history in microfilm and status as an EPM certified Image-Guard Lab enabled DRC to meet challenges with the microfiche collection including intricate repair and quality optimization.
