DRC was the selected vendor in a Canada wide bidding process based on its experience, technical expertise and ability to provide the best overall value to the Government.
 

Over the next 12 months, DRC will scan and index over a million pages of critical paper based documents and upload the converted digital images into the Government’s content management system for on-going active retrieval.  Additionally, DRC will generate an archive microfilm copy of all digitally scanned records for long term preservation.
 

Preservation of these records was the primary concern for the Government as these are original documents containing information with significant historical value. 

With its 500+ year life expectancy, Microfilm was the only storage media deemed reliable of preserving these records over the long term.
