DRC was awarded a major contract to convert approximately 2 million images of application records for a major Canadian Federal Government department into digital format for ingestion into the department's implementation of GCDOCS system; a document management solution based upon OpenText's Content Server platform. DRC was awarded the project after a competitive bid process which focused on proven conversion scale, compliant imaging and quality processes for image and data conversion plus proven integration with OpenText's Content Server document management platform.

The requirements included scanning 200,000 application forms containing affixed colour photographs and capturing data from forms used in DRC's data management and indexing systems. DRC, which possesses the largest multi-format conversion to digital capability in Canada (including paper, microforms and electronic documents), was able to swiftly complete the conversion effort within two months minimizing business disruption. DRC customized urgent document request portals and processes and ensured that the department maintained virtual access to any record during the entire conversion effort.
