DRC provides engineering drawing scanning for organizations whose drawings, plans and quality records still sit in flat files, tubes and binders. Paper drawings are fragile, hard to find and impossible to share with field crews. We convert them into clean, indexed digital drawings that keep every line weight and annotation, ready for your engineering, maintenance and document management systems.

Our large-format scanning and indexing turn a drawing vault into a reproducible, audit-ready digital archive.
- Documents: blueprints, sepias, mylars, vellums, as-builts, P&IDs, schematics, maps, site plans and the technical documents that go with them.
- Large format: wide-format scanners for oversized sheets, with small-format documents captured in the same project.
- Metadata: drawing number, title, revision, discipline, sheet, asset or site, and project code, so engineers search the way they already work.
- Output: high-resolution, version-controlled image files in the format your systems require.
- Integration: delivered into SharePoint, ERP, CMMS, PLM and engineering systems, or DRCSecure Hosted Document Management.
How It Works
- Inventory and sample: we review your drawing collection and run a sample scan or pilot so you can judge quality first.
- Secure pickup: drawings are collected and logged under documented chain of custody.
- Preparation: sheets are flattened, repaired and removed from tubes and binders, and large-format sheets are separated.
- Scanning: wide-format scanners capture each sheet at a resolution chosen for line work and fine text.
- Quality check: every image is checked for legibility, line weight and completeness, then indexed to your fields.
- Delivery: files are loaded into your systems, and originals are returned, stored or securely destroyed.
Compliance and Security
DRC is certified to CAN/CGSB-72.34-2017, Electronic Records as Documentary Evidence, so the digital records we produce are built to stand up as evidence and to support disposal of the paper originals. Our NAID AAA certification covers secure destruction of paper once you approve it. DRC holds federal security clearance at the Protected B level for document safeguarding, and every box and file is tracked under documented chain of custody from pickup to delivery.
For regulated facilities, each sheet has a documented capture record, so drawings stay audit-ready for inspectors and insurers.
